Hi, I noticed lots of files like Xterm.log.grml.2006.07.09.22.26.11.3824 in my home directory. How can I turn of Xterm logs by default? Is there anyway to turn on/off the logging without using the menu? My Xterm's menu pop-up screen are unreasonably small. It's about 2 lines by 10 columns. The dimension is the same despite the window manager that I'm using (Pekwm/fluxbox). Does it happen to you too?

Any mail client in grml allows me to relay mail through ISP

Hi First of all, let me confess the hidden agenda for me to install grml -- to tap into the unbelievable knowledge base of grml users and admin, because I had been trying to setup my Postfix to relay my mails through my ISP with SASL required many times but all failed. I'm been searching and following the document on the net (eg, the following two), but all attempts failed. how to make postfix to use SMTP auth for sending mail to a smarthost or a transport map relay server. http://www.k2.on.lk/fourm/viewtopic.php?t=30 Gmail on Home Linux Box using Postfix http://souptonuts.sourceforge.net/postfix_tutorial.html The reason that I need the mail relay is because my ISP has blocked my 25 mail port. So it is impossible for me to file bug reports, use my mail to backup my save-config, etc ... Now that nearly 90% of people are suffering from this mail port block, this feature would be requested again and again. please help. thanks a lot

grml-small and X

Hi Any likelihood of including X in grml-small? I understand that grml-small is meant for a business card CD-ROM, but the reality is that I never see anyone has that, but most people have pen-drives. Would it be possible for grml-small to go near 100M and include X? thanks

Reboot vs poweroff

Hi Where is the behavior defined for, when I press Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot? Currently it does poweroff instead of reboot, at least in the grml2hd environment. I want it to be reboot instead, and pressing the power button does the poweroff. please help. thanks a lot

Hi Several suggestions regarding the grml2hd: - I noticed that not all questions asked are in the config file. hostname is one of the example. - How about able to configure default language and time zone? - It might be a good idea to allow user to specify their own config files, but partition and mbr are still passed from the command line. So, eg, the config file can be provided from floppy, the same setting (from floppy) can be re-used over and over again. just my 2c thanks

Disable framebuffer page up scrolling

Hi Is there any way to disable framebuffer from scrolling when doing page up/down? Currently, when booted in framebuffer mode, when I do page up/down, the content "smoothly" scrolling up/down one page. I want the traditional zero-wait page up/down way -- without the content scrolling. please help. thanks

ReadOnly Filesystem after upgrade

Ahoi there, I use the GRML HD installed version on my laptop (X20); I ran an apt-get upgrade yesterday (monday), which seemed to work alright, but when I rebooted the system later on, the root filesystem is only mounted readonly, and systems like the /prov directory aren't hooked up (the runlevel says "2"). Mounting /proc and remounting rw works, but I can't seem to get the system to hold on to those settings (/etc/fstab has / with "default" options etc). I also ran fsck twice, but nothing seems to be wrong. Can't really give any more information, but here the last few lines of dmesg: md: Autodetecting RAID arrays. md: autorun ... md: ... autorun DONE. EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. VFS: Mounted root (ext3 filesystem) readonly. Freeing unused kernel memory: 280k freed kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds device-mapper: dm-multipath version 1.0.4 loaded I wonder if the RAID system (md...) could be causing problems (I didn't set up anything RAID related). Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Were there some bad package in yesterdays upgrades? Thanks, murphee

Installing ATI-drivers

Hi I need the ATI-drivers to start x (otherwise, grml-x will hang). but as of today, the fglrx-driver in the grml repository has a open bug -- no console after logging out of X, ver 8.25.18-1. Is there any workarounds? thanks
