In GerÃ¤usche transformierte Strahlungsemissionen der natÃ¼rlichen und der menschgemachten Welt, des Kosmos' ebenso wie des technologischen Environments: Rauschen, Knacksen, Zischen, Pfeifen, Vibrieren, Klirren und Klicken, Summen, Schwirren, Schwingen und DrÃ¶hnen, Stimmen, TÃ¶ne und KlÃ¤nge aus dem Radio. Seit 2012 beschÃ¤ftigt sich die MedienkÃ¼nstlerin, Musikerin, Komponistin, Organisatorin, Aktivistin mit KommunikationsrÃ¤umen, die durch den Einsatz von Antennen erzeugt und charakterisiert, im Live-Set musikalisch-improvisatorisch ausgedeutet werden. Sieben Projekte versammelt die Werkgruppe mittlerweile; die Skulpturen sind mobil, klein, schwer, raumgreifend, sie referenzieren Orte und PlÃ¤tze, fÃ¼r die sie entworfen wurden, und sie haben ihre jeweils eigene Entstehungsgeschichte. Diese bilden sich in den Formen ebenso ab wie das Spektrum dessen, was sie empfangen. Sieben /Resonating Sculptures/ sind in den vergangenen elf Jahren entstanden. Erweitert um eine neue Arbeit wird die Serie im /esc medien kunst labor/ erstmals geschlossen in Graz prÃ¤sentiert. Schon Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts hat Nikola Tesla bei seinen ersten Radioversuchen Signale vom Jupiter aufgefangen und sie kraft seiner Vorstellung interpretiert. Radiation emissions from the natural and man-made world, the cosmos and the technological environment transformed into sounds: hissing, crackling, hissing, whistling, vibrating, clanking and clicking, humming, buzzing, vibrating and booming, voices, tones and sounds from the radio. Since 2012, the media artist, musician, composer, organiser and activist has been working with communication spaces that are created and characterised through the use of antennas and interpreted musically and improvisationally in live sets. The group of works now comprises seven projects; the sculptures are mobile, small, heavy, expansive, they reference places and spaces for which they were designed, and they each have their own history of creation. These are reflected in the forms as well as the spectrum of what they receive. Seven Resonating Sculptures have been created over the past eleven years. Expanded by a new work, the series will be presented in its entirety for the first time in Graz at esc medien kunst labor. As early as the end of the 19th century, Nikola Tesla picked up signals from Jupiter during his first radio experiments and interpreted them using his imagination. The Resonating Sculptures appeal to this imagination in the same way as the blue of the deep when diving in the sea or the hissing of the radio between the transmitters. Im Film wird der Beginn der Matrix mit der Erschaffung der Systeme der KI definiert. TatsÃ¤chlich durchdringen Anwendungen der KI lÃ¤ngst all unsere Lebensbereiche und haben sowohl Auswirkungen auf unsere Entscheidungen und sozialen Beziehungen als auch Einfluss auf Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft. Die Simulation lÃ¶st die Differenz zwischen Realem und ImaginÃ¤rem auf und verwandelt sie in eine Indifferenz, eine "hybride Wirklichkeit". Innerhalb des Hyperrealen sind Reales und ImaginÃ¤res nicht mehr auseinanderzuhalten; Physisches und Digitales verschmelzen, werden "phygital". Ebenso verÃ¤ndert sich das VerhÃ¤ltnis von Mensch, Natur und Technik hin zu einer neuen Konfiguration, einem neuen Beziehungsgeflecht. Schon Donna Harraway verwies auf die transformativen Potenziale in dichten BeziehungsgefÃ¼gen. Wenn wir aus dem Simulacrum der Matrix erwachen kÃ¶nnen, kÃ¶nnen wir die WÃ¼ste der Wirklichkeiten mit bestimmten Werkzeugen verÃ¤ndern? [Morpheus to Neo in the film Matrix]. With this phrase by the media philosopher Jean Baudrillard, Morpheus introduces Neo's preparation for his task when he shows Neo living in a dream world that exists only as part of a neuro-interactive simulation - a matrix - while he is in a destroyed, sun-darkened world ruled by machines: "Welcome to the desert of reality". In the film, the beginning of the Matrix is defined by the creation of the systems of AI. In fact, applications of AI have long permeated all areas of our lives, impacting our decisions and social relationships as well as influencing the economy, politics, and society. ï»¿ï»¿Simulation dissolves the difference between the real and the imaginary and transforms it into indifference, a "hybrid reality". Within the hyperreal, the real and the imaginary can no longer be distinguished; the physical and the digital merge, becoming "phygital". Likewise, the relationship between humans, nature and technology is changing towards a new configuration, a new network of relationships. Donna Harraway already referred to the transformative potentials in dense webs of relationships. If we can awaken from the simulacrum of the matrix, can we change the desert of realities with certain tools? In the /Desert of Realities/ exhibition, the use of technology no longer appears only as a dystopian model of a bleak vision of the future or as a representation of the current state, but also as part of the solution that we should embrace: It makes a difference whether you only know a path, or whether you walk that path.
