Lieber Benutzerin,

In den letzte Tagen wurde der mur.at Mailserver (fox.mur.at) zweimal auf
spamcops Blackliste [1] eingetragen.  Der Eintrag passierte beide male,
nachdem mindestens eine spamtrap von spamcop ein e-mail von fox.mur.at
erhalten hat.  Bei einem der Vorfälle wissen wir zumindest, von wem die
e-mail stammt aber das hilft leider auch nicht viel weiter.  Beide
Vorfälle passierten während große Mailinglisten (>5000 Abonentinnen)
aktiv waren.

Wenn fox.mur.at auf der spamcop Blackliste eingetragen ist weigern sich
manche Mailserver e-mail von uns entgegenzunehmen.  In den meisten
Fällen bekommst Du eine Fehlermeldung [2] aber manchmal kann es sein,
dass Du gar nicht bemerkst das etwas nicht funktioniert.

Ehrlich gesagt können wir nicht viel tun ausser warten.  Normalerweise
bleibt ein spamcop Eintrag 24 Stunden aktive.  Glücklicherweise
verwenden nicht viele Mailadmins spamcop, da spamcop dafür bekannt ist
hypersensibel zu reagieren.

Wir fordern hiermit alle auf, aufzupassen wem Ihr e-mail schickt,
speziell wenn es sich um Newsletter, Einladungen oder andere Arten von
Massensendungen handelt.  Du MUSST sicherstellen, das jede einzelne
Adresse aus Deinem Verteiler einer Person GEHÖRT und diese Person
ZUGESTIMMT hat, Massenaussendungen von Dir zu bekommen.  Andernfalls
gefährdest Du ALLE mur.at Benutzerinnen die sich auf das Mailsystem
verlassen.

Wir werden das Mailsystem genau beobachten und versuchen, jeden Vorfall
zu untersuchen.  Bitte hilf uns das Mailsystem verwendbar zu halten
indem Du Dein Adressbuch säuberst und generell vorsichtig bist, wem Du
e-mail schreibst.  Wenn Du Ideen oder Vorschläge zu diesem Thema hast
schreib uns.  Jeder Hinweis ist willkommen.

recently the mur.at mailserver (fox.mur.at) was listed in spamcop's
blacklist [1] twice.  both times the listing occured after at least one
of spamcop's spamtraps received e-mail from fox.mur.at.  for one
incident we know who sent it, but that doesn't really help a lot.  both
incidents occured while big mailinglists (>5000 subscribers) where
active.

when fox.mur.at is listed in spamcop's blacklist, some mailservers
refuse to accept mail from us.  in most cases you will receive an error
message [2] but sometimes you might not notice that something ist wrong.

quite frankly, there is nothing we can do about this but wait.  usually
a spamcop listing lasts for 24 hours.  fortunately not many mail-admins
use spamcop since it is known to react over-sensitive.

we do ask all of you to be carefull about whom you send e-mail,
especially if you send out newsletters, invitations or other kind of
mass-mailings.  you MUST verify that each and every address you send
e-mail to BELONGS to a person that AGREED to receive you mass-mailing.
otherwise you jeopardize ALL mur.at users who rely on our e-mail
service.

we will have a close look on the mail-system and try to investigate
every incident.  please help us keep the mail-system usefull by cleaning
you address-books and beeing generally carefull who you write to.  if
you have any ideas or suggestions feel free to contact us.  any hint is
appreciated.
