the non-profit organization „Haus Bartleby e.V.“with the support of the
Club of Rome, the Heinrich-Boell-Foundation, Rosa-Luxemburg-Foundation,
Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation and the theatres brut Wien & WERK X in Vienna
are presenting: 

THE CAPITALISM TRIBUNAL.

What is the Capitalism Tribunal?

The unprecedented trial against the unfair and unjustifiable acts
committed by european capitalism will take place in Vienna, Austria from
May 1-12, 2016. 

The objective of the trial is to identify the wrong practices of the
past and present and to make sure that they will not be allowed in a
future economy.

This will be documented – based on the verdicts – in the „Vienna
Charta“.

Who is entitled to indict in such a trial?

An online platform www.capitalismtribunal.org has been provided since
May 1,2015.

Everyone is invited to accuse, or defend, Capitalism - meaning any past
as well as present operation and activity by european players or their
global partners.

Who is acting where against their own better jugdment? What
circumstances should be brought to court as a case to be jugded? Which
actions are legal and yet unjust? Or, where does a law itself produce
injustice?

The charges you submit will be read, collected and then transferred into
reality, a real trial. 

How will the indictments be handled?

Every indictment will be read, published on the website and presented
and discussed at the tribunal in may.

All those who accuse or defend capitalism can present and argue their
cases in person or via video conference from where they may be at the
time.

The whole tribunal will be broadcast live on the internet, dicussed on
the radio stations ORF FM4 in Austria and FLUXFM in Germany. It will
also be published on AGORA 42, a magazine dedicated to philosophy and
business.

All lawsuits – bundled into precedents – will be heared and tried at the
second meeting of the Tribunal in November 2016 and jugded by the
assembly.

The verdicts will be the bases for a new system of rules – the „Vienna
Charta“ - that in turn shall provide well-grounded standards for future
political practice.

WHY ARE YOU BEING SENT THIS LETTER ?

We would like to introduce and present this tribunal to you.
Furthermore, we would like to have your well versed and multifaceted
petitions against such a system so that broader and diverse opinions
could be heard. 

This is therefore a call of action to you so that you may petition
against such a system - be it as a person or as an institution.

Also we ask you to spread the word and to invite any person whom you
think has a petition, a comment, an opinion or anything that they feel
they can contribute to the success of such a tribunal.

The indictments can be written in a personal and simple language.
Evidence and attestors are very welcome, yet can also be found and
compiled together with the accusational team at a later date.

You are most welcome to come to Vienna and take part in the proceedings
of this tribunal.
