Tuesday April 9, ARISS contact with school in Canada. Downlink audible in

Europe



An International Space Station school contact is scheduled with
participants

at  Sir George Simpson Jr. High, Albert, AB, Canada, Tuesday April 9,
2013.

The event is to begin at approximately 20:00 UTC, which is 22:00 CEST.



The contact will be a telebridge operated by IK1SLD, located in north
Italy.

Interested parties in Europe are invited to listen to dowlink signals on

145.800 MHz FM. The contact will be conducted in English.



School presentation:



Sir George Simpson Public School is a junior high located in St. Albert,

Alberta.  Currently, we have approximately 540 students enrolled in a

variety of programs.



Our school houses several programs: English, French Immersion, Academic

Challenge, Learning Assistance, Opportunity, Knowledge and Employability,

and Behaviour Improvement.



While learning in their respective programs, all students are invited to

rally around our school motto: ?Spirit, Growth, Success? in both
thought and

action.



Simpson offers many extracurricular activities such as Social Justice,

Cheerleading, Art Club and our SABLE high altitude balloon club.



Participants will ask as many of the following multilingual questions as

time allows:



1. Faith: Does the absence of gravity aboard the ISS affect intracranial

pressure?

ARISS is an international educational outreach program partnering the

participating space agencies, NASA, Russian Space Agency, ESA, CNES, JAXA,

and CSA, with the AMSAT and IARU organizations from participating
countries.



ARISS offers an opportunity for students to experience the excitement of

Amateur Radio by talking directly with crewmembers onboard the
International

Space Station. Teachers, parents and communities see, first hand, how

Amateur Radio and crewmembers on ISS can energize youngsters' interest in

science, technology and learning.
