Lieber Benutzerin!

Seit 14. November 2006 sind bei mur.at neue Massnahmen gegen SPAM im
Einsatz

Erhöhtes SPAM-Aufkommen in den letzten Wochen

  Den meisten wird aufgefallen sein, dass die Menge der SPAM E-Mails in
  den letzten Wochen massiv zugenommen hat und das darüberhinaus mehr und
  mehr SPAM E-Mails am SpamAssassin vorbeigekommen sind (also nicht wie
  üblich als SPAM markiert wurden).
  Dafür gibt es mindestens zwei Gründe
  
   - Zwei neue Trojaner haben unzählige PCs befallen.
   - Neue Formen von SPAM E-Mail umgehen geschickt die Tests des
     SpamAssassin
  
  Beide Themen werden z.B. in einem Heise Artikel besprochen.

Neue Massnahmen gegen SPAM

  Um die Flut von unerwünschten E-Mails einzudämmen hat mur.at seit heute
  (14. November 2006) Vormittag stark verschärfte Regeln im E-Mail Verkehr
  eingeführt. Die Details sind auf der E-Mail Policy Seite nachzulesen.
  
  Da Veränderungen im E-Mail System immer unerwünscht/unbeabsichtigte
  Dinge mit sich bringen können, die von uns im Voraus schwer bis gar
  nicht überprüfbar sind bitten wir alle, sich unbedingt beim NOC zu
  melden falls Störungen im E-Mail System auftreten die vorher nicht
  bemerkbar waren.
  
  Wir weisen in diesem Zusammenhang darauf hin, dass diese Massnahmen
  gegen SPAM ausdrücklich als temporär zu betrachten sind, da es
  sicherlich nur eine Frage der Zeit ist, bis sich die Spammer an die
  neuen Bedingungen anpassen. Hier sind wir leider meistens einen Schritt
  hinten nach.
  
  Ansonsten hoffen wir, dass unser heutiges Finetuning am Mail-Server für
  weniger SPAM sorgt und E-Mail wieder sinnvoller zu verwenden wird.

Increased occurence of SPAM during last weeks

  Most of you will have noticed that the amount of SPAM e-mail has
  increased massively during the last weeks. Furthermore, more and more
  SPAM e-mails managed to bypass SpamAssassin (and were not tagged SPAM as
  usual).
  
  There are at least two reasons
  
   - Two new trojans infected countless PCs
   - New forms of SPAM e-mail manage to bypass SpamAssassin tests
  
  Both topics are discussed in a Heise article (in german).

New measures against SPAM

  To dam the flood of unsoliceted e-mail mur.at implemented aggressive
  rules regarding e-mail traffic this morning (14th November 2006). For
  details please see our e-mail policiy page.
  
  Changes in e-mail systems can potentially bring along
  undesired/unintended things that are hard if not impossible to check in
  advance. If you notice any disruption in our e-mail system that wasn't
  there before please contatct the NOC.
  
  We also want to state that these measures against SPAM must bee seen as
  temporary. It is only a question of time until spammers will have
  adjusted to these conditions. Unfortunately more often than not we are
  one step behind.
  
  Apart from that we hope that today's mailserver finetuning will leave
  you with less SPAM in your mailbox and renders e-mail more usefull
  again.
