 In einem monat findet die neueste version des Interpenetration
Festivals statt. Und damit ihr nicht unvorbereitet seid, bieten wir
dieses wochenende das offizielle trainingslager dazu an. 3 Konzerte an
4 tagen sollten gut auf das programm des festivals vorbereiten. Die
vielfalt dieser, von Krawall-Jazz über Aggro-Akustik bis Neue Musik,
ebenso. Wir beginnen mit zwei tagen höhentraining im Wakuum bevor es
am letzten tag in den keller des Forum Stadtpark geht. Wer das
trainingslager auslässt und dann beim festival ausser
atem gerät,
ist also selbst schuld.

 Albatre 
 
 Albatre is a new experimental music trio operating from Rotterdam.
Their music is a joyously harrowing display of urgent bass & sax
noise, skewed jazz elements, frantic but meticulous drumming and
abrupt moodshifts. Albatre can be seen as part of a burgeoning micro
scene of artists highlighting the crossover of improv, noise rock and
jazz currently made in Holland.

 Rainstick Cowbell
 
 Equally as intense, the raw and emotional music of Rainstick Cowbell
is no stranger to the Rumbles column. On “Damage Control Damage”,
the latest disc it is good to know that all of the musical elements
remain in place, the anguish and anger of the lyrics matched by a
vocal performance that comes from the heart, the musical arrangements
easily up to the task of conveying those emotions. Opening track
“The Tyranny of Poverty” pulls no punches, the unique voice
creating a track with
real outsider status, up there on the dark side
with Syd or Skip. Telling a brutal tale “All of You Will Betray Me
Tonight” is another tour-de-force, with some fine guitar/vocal
interplay, whilst the title track is the sound of anger unbridled. By
the time the disc is over you are kinda drained but also ready for
anything,highly recommended for the curious and adventurous amongst
you.

 fr z t | frei – zeitgenössisch – trio
 
 fr z t ist ein Trio aus Wien, das sich mit der Musik des 20. und 21.
Jahrhunderts auseinandersetzt. Durch seine ungewöhnliche Besetzung
(Violine, Viola, Gitarren) führt es, neben Stücken für offene
Besetzung, hauptsächlich Werke auf, die für das Ensemble komponiert
wurden. Im Jahr 2012 wurden fünf neue Werke uraufgeführt, unter
anderem von Maja Osojnik und Philipp Tröstl.
 
 Das Ensemble, das 2011 gegründet wurde, blickt bereits auf Auftritte
bei den minute concerts von Impuls Graz, den Wiener Festwochen, bei
»Neue Musik in St. Ruprecht«, sowie beim österreichischen
Radiosender Ö1 zurück.
 
 Die Mitglieder (Sophia Goidinger, Judith Reiter und Klaus Haidl)
beschäftigen sich auch in anderen Formationen mit aktueller Musik und
können auf
Kollaborationen mit Gunter Schneider, Burkhard Stangl,
Maja Osojnik, Thomas Stempkowski, Irene Kepl, Rosi Rehformen u. a.
verweisen.
 
 Derzeit schreiben Mathias Koch, Burkhard Stangl Werke für das
Ensemble und mit Daniel Riegler ist es im Gespräch für ein neues
Stück.
