[Drupal] about drupal farm

hallo experten,
kann bitte jemand von euch dem vanni helfen:

i need to use some libraries (ckeditor, colorbox, plupload) which are not installed in root.
I wanted to add something like this to settings.php: $conf['plupload_library_path']
= /usr/share/drupal7/theinfluencers.mur.at/libraries/plupload; but i get some php or apache
error and page goes blank.

i can still use the Libraries API module. i was just wondering if I'm doing anything wrong
and save such a module.
