Hi,
I'm thinking about ordering Grml USB pens. I'd order ~50 of those 4GB pens:
http://grml.org/screeni/gkrellShoot_10-04-07_125403.png
featuring a Grml logo, providing a working multiboot setup (grml/grml64) with persistency option out-of-the-box.
Would YOU pay ~30€ for such a Grml pen?

I prefer even smaller sticks like http://www.cec-promotions.de/1,882,,,,,x.html or http://www.mrdisc.ch/statische/de/usb-stick-mini-1

If it would have more capacity - I'm carrying only one stick with me, and my current one already has 8GB, so it should have at least the same capacity.

Hm, the sticks look like those ones that have a case that doesn't comform the specs and don't fit in several PCs. Could this be true?
Would such a "USB Karte Wafer" be an interesting option?

JFYI: mrdisc.ch has an online calculator though isn't that cheap, I've requested an quote from cec-promotions.de (though 100 pens are minimum AFAICS).

The 8GB version would cost 35-40€/pen though.

I don't know any of them, I was just looking for some pictures. Currently I'm using a Sandisk Cruzer Micro without the "skin": http://picnicb.ciao.com/de/235926069.jpg
Perhaps you can ask them for a (free?) sample?

My wallet is already filled enough ;)

I think that's okay, at least for me.

P.S.: I just got another idea, you can upload custom ISO images to U3-capable sticks, perhaps this feature could be used to make the grml-files undeletable. isofrom= and the possibility just to write the new grml iso to the stick would be even more comfortable, but will probably fail with different kernel versions.

I asked for information regarding the USB pens, sadly we don't have much time left until Linuxdays Graz (and I don't want to invest >1k€ without having a proper event in front of the doors).

Ok, what about others?

IMHO this is too expensive.
Agreed.

Btw. What about the original proposal? 4gb for 30 euros?

Definite no. I carry a 8 GB Sandisk Titanium Cruzer and might upgrade to the 16 GiB version or larger if they ever offer it. Anything less sturdy will break within weeks.
Any other thumb drive would be a downgrade, for me.

JFYI: I've ordered 25 of those 4GB USB keys. Just waiting for the graphics we used for the Grml cup, then the devices will be printed and should be available for Grazer linuxdays.

I've ordered 25 USB keys and they just arrived:

Verified performance data:
* size == 4GB * read == 18MB/s * write == 9MB/s
We also have Grml coffee cups (I'll ship it without content though ;)):

If anyone of you wants either a USB key or a Grml cup (or both of them) please contact me. I'll sell the remaining devices/cups on this weekend at Linuxdays Graz.
First come, first serve.
