*Programm* Durch die Erforschung geschlechtsuntypischer virtueller Avatare stellt Harriet Davey Körper wieder her und fordert sie zurück, die von einer männlich dominierten Gaming-Industrie unterdrückt wurden. Besessen von der Frage, was es bedeutet, in einer digitalen Welt fluid und menschlich zu sein, untersucht und hinterfragt sie das Hässliche und das Schöne, das Maximum und das Minimum, das Online- und das Offline-Leben. Ihre Arbeiten umfassen vorgerenderte Kurzfilme und Animationen, Standbilder und seit neuestem auch digitale Echtzeit-Performances mit Motion Capture sowie interaktive Spiele, an denen das Publikum teilnehmen kann. *Dienstag, 14.10., 13:00 – 18:00 Uhr Ada Lovelace Day* Controls Unbound Workshop Dramaturgie und Regie Wie man Umgebungen und Beleuchtung in 3D (Blender) verbessert
Die Teilnehmer:innensollten bereits mit Blender (oder einer anderen 3D-Software) vertraut sein. Wenn Sie wissen, wie man sich im 3D-Viewport bewegt und grundlegende Transformationen an Meshes vornimmt, sind Sie startklar. In diesem Workshop werden Techniken zur Verbesserung von Szenen durch Beleuchtung, Kamera- und Render-Einstellungen sowie zur Erstellung einer einfachen Landschaftsszene behandelt. Wir werden einige kostenlose Add-ons verwenden, und bei Bedarf werden zusätzliche 3D-Netzdateien zur Verfügung gestellt.

Wie können wir in einer von Polykrisen geprägten, scheinbar ausser Kontrolle geratenen Welt mit Ambivalenztoleranz reagieren, verantwortungsvoll agieren, aktiv und nicht zuletzt kreativ werden? Und wie kann uns kritische Medienkunst dabei nachhaltig helfen, in einer sich rasant technologisierenden Welt – nicht nur digitale – Souveränität zu gewinnen? Komplexe neue Netzwerke aus menschlichen, mehr-als-menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Akteuren sind auf überraschende Weise schöpferisch. Diese neuen kreativen Agenten – etwa die KI-Modelle – erinnern uns daran, dass Kreativität schon immer ein kollaborativer und kooperativer Akt, ein symbiotisch-evolutionärer Prozess gewesen ist, der das Menschliche übersteigt.
Andererseits wird durch den Einsatz und die rasante Entwicklung von generativer und multimodaler KI in künstlerischen Prozessen, die Frage nach der kreativen Konkurrenz aufgeworfen – gerät damit eine Domäne menschlicher Kreativität nun auch ausser Kontrolle?

Program Through her exploration of gender-nonconforming virtual avatars, Harriet Davey restores and reclaims bodies that have been suppressed by a male-dominated gaming industry. Obsessed with the question of what it means to be fluid and human in a digital world, she examines and questions the ugly and the beautiful, the maximum and the minimum, online and offline life. Her work includes pre-rendered short films and animations, still images, and most recently, real-time digital performances using motion capture and interactive games in which the audience can participate.

Tuesday, October 14, 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Ada Lovelace Day Controls Unbound Workshop Dramaturgy and direction How to improve environments and lighting in 3D (Blender)
Participants should already be familiar with Blender (or other 3D software). If you know how to navigate the 3D viewport and perform basic transformations on meshes, you're ready to go. This workshop will cover techniques for improving scenes through lighting, camera, and render settings, as well as creating a simple landscape scene. We will use some free add-ons, and additional 3D mesh files will be provided if needed.

In a world marked by multiple crises and seemingly spiraling out of control, how can we respond with tolerance for ambivalence, act responsibly, and become active and, not least, creative? And how can critical media art help us gain sovereignty—not only digital sovereignty—in a rapidly technologizing world? Complex new networks of human, more-than-human, and non-human actors are surprisingly creative. These new creative agents—such as AI models—remind us that creativity has always been a collaborative and cooperative act, a symbiotic-evolutionary process that transcends the human.
On the other hand, the use and rapid development of generative and multimodal AI in artistic processes raises the question of creative competition – is a domain of human creativity now also spiraling out of control?
