KLANGATOLL
 
Permanente Klanginstallation,
bestehend aus einer solarbetriebenen Beschallungsanlage
und einer an die Landschaft angepaßten Erdkonstruktion

Die Soundscape des KLANGATOLLS besteht aus leicht verfremdeten
Naturklängen der Umgebung. Ein immer wiederkehrender Rhythmus von
verschiedenen Klangmodulen, ein strukturiertes Muster aus naturnahen
Klängen. Die akustische Geschichte einer Landschaft, beginnend mit dem
Urmeer, endend in der Gegenwart.
 
Klänge in der Natur verlaufen nach bestimmten Ordnungsmustern, keine
maschinellen Ordnungen, sondern Ordnungen, die aus den
Umweltgegebenheiten immer wieder neu entstehen. Im Klangatoll ist es die
menschliche Bewegung, die durch einen Bewegungsmelder den Zeitablauf des
Geschehens steuert - eine Klangskulptur formt.
 
In der Landschaft um Paasdorf gibt es verschiedene natürliche, durch
Erosion entstandene Erdformationen, die an Uferböschungen, Riffe oder
Atolle erinnern. In seiner Form führt das KLANGATOLL diese Assoziationen
weiter. Es wächst aus der Landschaft, teilweise dem natürlichen
Hügelverlauf folgend. Die Bepflanzung wurde an die natürlich vorkommende
Vegetation angeglichen und integriert das KLANGATOLL in seine Umgebung.

Am 1. Juli 2001 wird die gesamte Kulturlandschaft Paasdorf, in der sich
ausserdem noch Arbeiten von Eva Afuhs, Maria Hahnenkamp,
PRINZGAU/podgorschek, Ingeborg Strobl und Leo Zogmayer befinden,
offiziell eröffnet.
 
Paasdorf liegt ca. 4 km westlich von Mistelbach im Weinviertel/NÖ und
mit dem Auto über die Brünnerstrasse, bzw. mit der Schnellbahnlinie S2
zu erreichen.
 
Wir würden uns über einen Besuch freuen.

The KLANGATOLL's soundscape consists of material recorded in its very
specific surrounding landscape. A repeated rhythm of different sound
modules, a structured pattern of nature sounds. An acoustic history of a
landscape - beginning with the prehistoric sea which long ago washed
over it, ending with the modern rural life of the present.
 
Sounds in nature underly specific patterns, structured not by mechanic
orders but by environmental influences. The KLANGATOLL is triggered by
human movement - a sensor controls the permanent shifting fabric of the
soundscape.
 
The landscape around Passdorf has been shaped by erosion leavinf forms
which remind us of river banks, riffs or atolls. The KLANGATOLL
continues these associations - literally growing out of this
countryside...

On july 1st the Kulturlandschaft Paasdorf will be officially opened to
the public with permanent installations by Eva Afuhs, Maria Hahnenkamp,
PRINZGAU/podgorschek, Sodomka/Breindl, Ingeborg Strobl and Leo Zogmayer.
 
Paasdorf is situated 4 km west of Mistelbach in the Weinviertel/NÖ. It
can be reached by car via the Brünnerstrasse and by train with the
Schnellbahnlinie S2.
