Die Verwendung von Texten, die Dinçel von Hand, Kader für Kader, ins Material ritzt oder der Einsatz von Spiegeln zählen ebenso zu ihren Markenzeichen wie sehr persönlich gehaltene Erzählungen in Ich-Form. Das Ausloten des Verhältnisses zwischen der Liebenden und der geliebten Person, frühe sexuelle Erfahrungen oder eine Abtreibung kommen darin ungeniert zur Sprache. Gleichzeitig macht Dinçel ihre Sozialisation in einer wertkonservativen, muslimischen Familie fassbar. „Don‘t imitate“ oder „Try to make the most original shots“ sind nur zwei Anweisungen aus ihrem jüngsten Film Instructions on How to Make a Film, die einen Erklärungsversuch für die geradezu haptische Kraft ihrer Bildarbeit liefern. Dinçel vertreibt ihre handgemachten, analogen Filme selbst und präsentiert sie gerne in alternativen Kunsträumen und kleinen Programmkinos.
