Mit der Intensität der Musik verstärken sich die Bewegungen, </span><span class="" style="font-style: inherit;">und die entspannte Mine weicht einem überraschten Blick der Alten Dame, die sich bald wieder genüsslich dem Geschehen überlässt. </span><span class="" style="font-style: inherit;">Nach dem Tod des Vaters sorgt Orimoto für seine damals schon depressive und schwerhörige Mutter und bezieht sie seit 1996 regelmäßig in seine künstlerischen Arbeiten ein. </span><span class="" style="font-style: inherit;">Dabei verstärkt er die absurden und grotesken Seiten der Demenz, unter der seine 1920 geborene Mutter zunehmend leidet, und macht sie einem weltweiten Publikum mit Plakaten, Fotos, Ausstellungen, Performances und auf Zeichnungen bekannt. </span><span class="" style="font-style: inherit;">Seine Arbeit kombiniert den zum Klischee geworden Wahnsinn Beethovens mit den therapeutischen Effekten einer Kopfmassage. Performances wie diese verdanken sich keinem spontanen künstlerischen Einfall, sondern entwickeln sich aus der täglichen Zuwendung und den Bedürfnissen beider. Als Künstler, der seine weltweiten Aktionen seit Jahrzehnten mit dem Begriff „Communication Art“ bezeichnet, muss Orimoto Reisen und Ausstellungstätigkeiten auf das Notwendigste beschränken, da die Pflege seiner Mutter seine Anwesenheit verlangt.
