      Das Projekt von Artist-in-Residence Andrés Ramírez Gaviria (*1975, Bogota) "- ./" besteht aus einem 6-minütigen Video, in dem Bild wie auch Sound bearbeitet und gemischt werden, wobei Literaturangaben des von Wassily Kandinsky 1926 geschriebenen Buches "Punkt und Linie zu Fläche" in Morsecodes übertragen werden.

      Das Projekt verfolgt die Umkehrung der üblichen narrativen Aufbaus in audiovisuellen Medien. Ein visueller oder "filmischer" Raum - entwickelt aus einer Komposition von abstrakten/ästhetischen Elementen - wird durch den Einsatz von Morsecodes in einen informatorischen Raum. Indem eine abstrakte, nicht-objektivierbare Bildabfolge linear und synchron mittels Morsecode bearbeitet wird, kehrt die Arbeit filmische Strategien der Narration ins Paradoxe um. Der Inhalt und die Aussage des Videos werden nicht von dessen visueller Narration diktiert, sondern vielmehr von der Zeitsequenz in welcher die Videoclips bearbeitet werden.

      The project of artist-in-residence Andrés Ramírez Gaviria (*1975, Bogota) "- ./" consists of a 6 minute video in which both image and sound are edited and mixed using as a guideline the Morse Code translation from a reference page in the back of the book, Point and Line to Plane, written by Wassily Kandinsky in 1926.
      One of the purposed aims of the project is to interpolate the visual or "cinematic" space formed in the composition of abstract/aesthetic elements with the informational space that arises from the Morse Code Translation as a way to invert the commonly known method of narration in audio-visual media. By having an abstract or non-objective image sequence edited in linear synchronicity to the Morse Code, the work reverts filmic strategies of narration to a paradox. The content and meaning of the video is not dictated by its visual narrative but rather by the time sequence in which the video clips are edited.
