Dear friends,

We are pleased to inform you that the 8th Phonurgia Nova competition is
open. We would be obliged if you could give the information to the
composers, radio producers, sound artists and performers who could be
concerned.

Information, registration forms, and audio files MP3  regarding the
competition are available on this website :
http://www.francophoniques.org (see < actualité > section). A complete
english version will be soon available  on the same site.

This new competition, supported by the city of Arles, the french ministery
of foreign affairs and the french ministery of culture, is now split in 4
main categories :
- - fiction
- - features
- - sound design and acoustic works
- - radiomix (recycling a selection of audio files archives from the 20th
century provided by 9 radio members of the EBU)

May we remind you that this competition is open to all authors, journalists,
and sound makers in the radio medium or outside ?

Entries will be judged by a panel of 18 personalities from the radio
industry, the arts and the media.
No less than 15 000 Euros will be attributed to the winners.
The award ceremony will take place in Arles, the 8th of july, during a
special night in the Antic Theatre.

Practical informations :
Deadline : complete entry form, entry fees, scripts and recordings must
reach Phonurgia Nova no later than 15th of june 2001.

The 16th Summer University of sound design and radio will be held from
