Macht der Bilder“ gezeigte Werk „Cinema Cristal / سینمای کریستال“ zu sprechen. Pöschls Arbeiten befinden sich an der Schnittstelle zwischen bildender Kunst, Film und Meditation. In ihrem künstlerischen Schaffen erforscht sie Wissensproduktion, soziale Praxis und Fürsorge in Relation zu technologischer Innovation. In der Arbeit „Cinema Cristal / سینمای کریستال“, die gemeinsam mit Co-Regisseurin Farnaz Jurabchian entstanden ist, setzt sich Pöschl anhand der veränderten Rolle des Kinos in Teheran nach der iranischen Revolution mit der Wandelbarkeit der kollektiven Rezeption von Bewegtbildern auseinander und benennt so einen ästhetischen und sozialen Erinnerungsraum. Im Kontext der aktuellen Ausstellung spricht die Künstlerin außerdem über die Rolle von Bildern in (kollektiven) Erinnerungen.<br/><br/>Marlies Pöschl (*1982 Salzburg, lebt in Paris und Wien) ist eine österreichische Künstlerin und Filmemacherin. Nach Abschluss ihres Studiums an der Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien und der Universität für angewandte Kunst, Wien unterrichtet sie derzeit Kunst und digitale Medien an der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien. Ihre Projekte wurden international auf zahlreichen Festivals und bei diversen Ausstellungen präsentiert, u.a. in der Kunsthalle Wien (2019), im CAC Brétigny (2018), MUMOK Kino (2018), Donaufestival Krems (2016), MUSA Wien (2015). 2019 bekam sie den Emerging Artist Award des Salzburger Kunstvereins und 2018 den Content Vienna Award. Pöschl ist Gründungsmitglied und Vorsitzende der Golden Pixel Cooperative, einer Plattform für Kunst und Bewegtbild.<br/><br/>—<br/><br/></span><span style="font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;" >07 09 2020 6 p.m.<br/>Marlies Pöschl</span><span style="font-family: '';font-size: 13px;text-decoration:underline ;" ><br/></span><span style="font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" >Artist talk<br/><br/>Filmmaker Marlies Pöschl is our guest at Künstlerhaus, Halle für Kunst & Medien to talk to curator Jana Franze about her artistic practice and the art work “Cinema Cristal / سینمای کریستال“ that is part of the exhibition “Image Wars. The Power of Images.” Pöschl’s art works are situated on the border between Fine Arts, film, and meditation. In her artistic practice she investigates knowledge production, social practice, and care in relation to technological innovation. In her piece “Cinema Cristal / سینمای کریستال“, which was created together with co-director Farnaz Jurabchian, Pöschl engages with the mutability of the collective reception of moving images using the example of the transformed role of cinema in Tehran after the Iranian Revolution and in the process identifies an aesthetic and social space of memory. In the context of the current exhibition the artist will also talk about the role of images in (collective) memory.<br/><br/>Marlies Pöschl (*1982 Salzburg, lives in Paris and Vienna) is an Austrian artist and filmmaker. After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna and the University for Applied Arts, Vienna, she currently teaches art and digital media at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna.
