Videostill</SPAN></span><br><br><img src="cid:Line.png@26C7853C.E634.4CDE.9E35.7CD0482FCBD2"> <br><br><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" >Tina Frank (*1970 Tulln, lebt in Wien) bespielt im Rahmen von <a href="https://www.klanglicht.at/en/">Klanglicht</a> drei Tage lang das Foyer und den Außenraum des Künstlerhauses mit einer neuen audio-visuellen Installation. Franks künstlerisches Interesse dreht sich um visuelle Kultur, Datenvisualisierungen und synästhetische Experimente. Mit intensiven Form- und Farbkompositionen hinterfragt sie die Grenzen unserer Wahrnehmung. Besonderer Schwerpunkt hierbei bildet die Visualisierung von Musik, die sie regelmäßig in Kooperationen mit Sound-Künstler_innen umsetzt. Für das Projekt in Graz realisiert Frank eine Zusammenarbeit mit Alex Murray-Leslie, Gründungsmitglied der international renommierten Künstlerinnen-Band „Chicks on Speed” und Forscherin im Spannungsfeld von Design und digitaler Musik.<BR><BR>Was wäre, wenn eigentlich alles anders wäre? Die immersive Bild-Klang-Installation der beiden Künstlerinnen Tina Frank und Alex Murray-Leslie ist ein Gedankenexperiment, das durch Farb-, Form- und Bildprojektionen die Grenzen unserer Gedanken hinterfragt.<BR>Die Kürze unseres Lebens lässt den Menschen nicht auf die Konsequenzen seines Handelns blicken. Dass wir mit diesem unserer Welt oft nichts Gutes tun und sie für spätere Generationen sogar unbewohnbar machen, davon ist Tina Frank überzeugt. Mit „What if“ laden die Künstlerinnen ein, unsere Perspektiven – visuell wie narrativ – auf die Welt zu verändern: Wie sehe der (Lebens-)Raum um uns aus, würde er nur von Moosen und Farnen bewohnt werden? Wie würde sich unser Alltag losgelöst von patriarchalischen Strukturen gestalten? <BR>What if feminists ruled the world? Inspiriert von der Feminismus-Theoretikerin Donna J. Frank’s artistic interest revolves around visual culture, data visualization and synesthetic experiments. With intensive form and color compositions, she playfully questions the boundaries of human perception. Special emphasis thereby is the visualization of music, as she regularly cooperates with sound artists. For the project in Graz, she will realize a collaboration with Alex Murray-Leslie, founding member of internationally renowned artist-band “Chicks on Speed” and researcher in the fields of design and digital music. The immersive sound-image-installation is inspired by US-American feminist theorist Donna J. Haraway and subjects alternative narratives and perspectives to negotiation.<BR><BR>What if everything was different? The immersive image-sound-installation by the artists Tina Frank and Alex Murray-Leslie is a thought experiment that questions the borders of or thoughts through color-, form- and image-projections.<BR>The brevity of our lives does not allow us to view the consequences of our actions. That we thereby do harm to our planet and even render it uninhabitable for future generations is a strong belief of Tina Frank’s. In “What if” the artists invite us to change our – visual as well as narrative - perspectives on the world: What would the (living-) space look like, if it was inhabited only by mosses and ferns? How would our every day life look like free from patriarchal structures? <BR>What if feminists ruled the world? Inspired by feminist theorist Donna J. Haraway, Tina Frank and Alex Murray-Leslie turn the Künstlerhaus into a habitat of glass for fictional as well as political reflections, which cannot defy a warning to the world: People (who live) in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.</SPAN><br /><br /><img src="cid:Line.png@26C7853C.E634.4CDE.9E35.7CD0482FCBD2">
