Vielfach wird beklagt, dass diese Veränderung nicht nur zum Guten erfolgt ist. Unter dem Deckmantel der Anonymität verbreiteter Hass, zunehmende Polarisierung und Radikalisierung, absichtsvoll gestreute oder beiläufig verbreitete Gerüchte stellen die politische Gemeinschaft vor beträchtliche Herausforderungen. Diesen zu begegnen bedingt die Grenzen freier Meinungsäußerungen vor ihrem Hintergrund zu reflektieren. Diese Reflektion ist Gegenstand des Vortrags „Hate Speech, Echokammern und Filterblasen: Über die Grenzen freier Meinungsäußerung im digitalen Zeitalter".<BR><BR>Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Bezemek, B.A., LL.M. (Yale) (*1981 Wien, lebt in Graz) ist Professor für Öffentliches Recht am Institut für Öffentliches Recht und Politikwissenschaft der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz. Zuvor lehrte er unter anderem an der Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, der Wirtschaftsuniversität Kattowitz, der Universität Zagreb, der Universidad Panamericana in Mexiko-Stadt und der Universität Pisa. Sein Engagement für neue, digitale Lehrmethoden wurde im Jahr 2016 mit einer Nominierung zum Staatspreis für Exzellente Lehre (Ars Docendi) belohnt. Bezemeks wissenschaftliche Schwerpunkte sind Grundrechtsschutz und Staatsorganisationsrecht sowie Staats- und Rechtstheorie. Many claim that the developments were not entirely for the better. Under the cloak of anonymity, hate is being spread, polarization and radicalization increase and rumors that are being propagated intentionally or incidentally present the political community with considerable challenges. Facing these challenges requires a reflection of the limits of the freedom of speech. This reflection is the subject of the lecture "Hate Speech, Echo Chambers and Filter Bubbles: On the Limits of Free Speech in the Digital Age".<BR><BR>Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Bezemek, B.A., LL.M. (Yale) (*1981 Vienna, lives in Graz) is professor of public law at the institute for public law and political science at the University of Graz. Previously, he taught at the Vienna University of Economics and the University of Economics Katowice, the University of Zagreb, the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City and the University of Pisa. His dedication to new, digital teaching methods was rewarded with a nomination for the state award for excellent teaching (Ars Docendi) in 2016. Bezemek’s scientific core areas of research are protection of fundamental rights and polity law as well as theory of the state and legal theory. One of his current topics is the relation between individual and public community.</SPAN><br /><br /><img src="cid:Line.png@B3F5A800.146A.4322.B6A7.8254C2537582">
