Benannt ist das Video „Schneesturm“ (2017) nach dem Titel des 1842 vollendeten Gemäldes „Snow Storm – Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth” des englischen Romantikers Joseph Mallord William Turner. Weißenbergs Video hingegen beschäftigt sich mit dem Memorieren von Binärziffern, inszeniert als emotionsverhaftete Anstrengung, und der Kontrastierung der Ästhetik des Digitalen mit dem traditionellsten aller künstlerischen Medien, der Malerei.<BR><BR>Julia Weißenberg (*1982 Bergisch Gladbach, lebt in Köln) studierte Medienkunst an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln und Kommunikationsdesign an der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf. Sie erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Förderungen, u.a. den Förderpreis des NRW-Wettbewerbs der Internationalen Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen (2018), den 25. The film Snowstorm (2017) was entitled after the painting Snow Storm⎯Steam-Boat off a Harbour’s Mouth that the English romanticist Joseph Mallord William Turner completed in 1842. Only the film’s subject matter is the memorization of binary numbers staged as a strongly emotional effort, as well as to contrast digital aesthetic with the most traditional of all artistic media: painting.<BR><BR>Julia Weißenberg (*1982 Bergisch Gladbach, lives in Cologne) studied Media Art at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and Communications Design at the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.
