Am Vorplatz des Künstlerhaus plant Maier nun die vergleichsweise selbstkritisch angelegte Arbeit „I Don't Wanna be Me“. Aus einer Mischung aus szenischen Lesungen, kleinen Liedern und einer Reihe von absurden Verrichtungen soll die gewünschte Selbstnegation versinnbildlicht werden: „Am besten wäre es, wenn aus der Summe der Darbietungen eine Auflösung des eigenen Ichs ins Licht des Bewusstseins der Betrachter kommen wird."<BR><BR>--<BR><BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;" >An Art Day's Night<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';" >Special<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" ><BR>31 08 2017 6 p.m.<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;" >Performance with Michael Maier<BR></SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;font-weight: bold;text-decoration:underline;" >I Don't Wanna be Me</SPAN><SPAN STYLE= "font-family: '';font-size: 13px;" ><BR><BR>The Styrian painter and sculptor Michael Maier visited Documenta 2012 in Kassel giving a performance titled "Störenfried“ by means of a mobile sculpture. For the courtyard of the Künstlerhaus Maier has in comparison conceived the self-critical artwork „I Dont’ Wanna be Me.“ A mixture of dramatic readings, little songs and a series of absurd actions shall visualize the intended self-negation: „At best the sum of presentations will trigger a process of disengagement of the self within the consciousness of the audience.“</SPAN><br /><br /><img src="cid:Line.png@B3F5A800.146A.4322.B6A7.8254C2537582">
