 Knalpot

With dub, rock, electronic noise, ambient and jazz as its main
pillars, KNALPOT’s sound always remains an utterly hybrid mix of
many genres, scraping the borders to trance with their very own
stumble-grooves. During concerts they keep reinterpreting their
compositions in a virtuoso way of multitasking between bass, guitar,
casio’s, drums and big amounts of analogue electronics, creating
sonic whirlwinds and wall-of-sound goodness that alternate with
whispery-soft sections. This austrian/french/german duo operates from
its home-base Amsterdam and has reached the status of one the
Netherlands most exciting live-bands since the release of their
debut-release
Serious Outtakes in 2009. Even though KNALPOT appears as
a duo on stage, third band member soundman Sandor Caron shapes their
sound with great aesthetics, both live and in the studio.
KNALPOT’s new album ‘Yes please’ is a sonic roller-coaster as
well as class A designer drugs for your ears. It should be listened to
as loud as possible or, in any case as many times as you can to fully
appreciate the level of detail that went into production. It also
communicates the energy from the band’s impressive live performances
around the globe throughout the past seven years. ‘Yes please’ is
available since 4th June 2014 as digital and limited vinyl release.

 press:
KNALPOT stands for development, inventiveness, acuteness and
vitality. What else do you wish to get from music?
(Jazzenzo)
A highlight of the Eurosonic Festival 2010. (Kindamuzik)
With a freshness that summons up a sunny-day-stoned Can or a jazz
quartet freed from a dictatorial star player, Knalpot are onto
something. (Rock-a-rolla)
Probably the best rock duo that surfaced in The Netherlands in 2009.
Guitar, electronics, drums and an immense dose of energy. (Stream
Magazine)
The future of Dutch music. (Utrechts Dagblad)
Despite their limited number, they manage to sound like a bastard
hybrid of a load of Rune Grammofon and Warp bands – the skronk of
Supersilent, the punk of MoHa, the mathematics of Battles, and the
electronic of Pivot. (Scott McMillan)
KNALPOT sounds like a motorbike race between Radiohead, Clark and
Squarepusher. (Bimhuis)
The most exceptional band of the festival surely was Knalpot,
consisting of two experimenters of sonic worlds. It is really
thrilling and pleasing to see such courageous pioneers exist.
(Draaiomjeoren)
This duo makes a mix of jazz, electronics and
jazz that is much more
exciting than many other electronic pop acts of today. (Oor Magazine)
Their ‘nu-generator tractor music’ full of lo-fi grooves and
unexpected combinations turned the crowd crazy. Definitely one of the
most memorable nights at Club behind Mirror. (Euforion)

 Hexenschuss

Based somewhere between Amsterdam and Tel-Aviv, keyboard player Gil
Luz (Mambas, Malka Spiegel) and drummer Assi Weitz (JAP, Gone Bald)
combine a mixture of live electronics, psychedelic and post punk
elements. Their music can be best described as moronic bass lines
accompanied by progressive beats, seasoned with synths and effects…
 or simply progressive kindergarten pop
