Bereits zum zweiten Mal verlässt der S/GHT STORE die gewohnte Umgebung in Wien um gemeinsam mit dem Künstlerhaus KM– und der Künstlerin Sissa Micheli (geboren 1975 in Bruneck, lebt in Wien) zeitgenössische Kunst und Mode im Rahmen eines viertägigen POP UP SHOPS in Graz zu zeigen. Sissa Micheli entwirft dafür ein Display, das die nationale und internationale Modelabels von S/GHT aufnimmt, um ein Ensemble von Kleidung, Kunst und Bild im Raum zu konfigurieren. Zur Eröffnung spricht Andreas Spiegl (Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien), gefolgt von einer live Soundperformance von Christian Egger alias guy the guy. BesucherInnen können bei freiem Eintritt sowohl die Mode des S/GHT STORE als auch die Arbeiten von Sissa Micheli erfahren und erwerben. Das Projekt fungiert als Plattform an der Schnittstelle von junger Mode und zeitgenössischer Kunst und wird von der Wirtschafsagentur Wien und departure gefördert.

„Sissa Micheli verknüpft ihre Assemblagen mit dem Begriff 'objective correlative', der mit T.S. Eliot und literarischen Kombinationen von Handlungen, Objekten und Bilder verbunden wird, und weist damit auf die narrativen Fährten hin, die sich aus den Ensembles entwickeln: Sei es ein Stativ, ein Schuh, ein Helikopter – ein Ensemble aus Stehen, Tragen, Gehen und Fliegen. Für das Ensemble von Kunst und Mode im S/GHT POP UP-Projekt im Künstlerhaus KM– in Graz eingeladen, hat Sissa Micheli vorgeschlagen, den Gedanken weiter zu tragen: eine Form zu finden, die es erlaubt, die Relationen zwischen heterogenen Gegenständen und Materialien, zwischen Genres und Disziplinen, zwischen Kunst und Mode neu zu knüpfen. Im Kontext ihrer Arbeiten gestaltet sie das Display, das die verschiedenen Mode-Labels von S/GHT aufnimmt, um ein Ensemble von Kleidung, Kunst und Bild im Raum zu konfigurieren. Das zentrale Motiv dafür bilden Bilderrahmen, die entgegen ihrer üblichen
Handhabung um 90 Grad gedreht in den Raum ragen. Es entsteht ein Ensemble von Kleidung, Kunst und Bild im Raum, und doch bleiben die Bilderrahmen als Bildrahmen lesbar, als Rahmen für das Bild einer Leerstelle, ein imaginäres Bild, das in seiner räumlichen Disposition den Raum in sich aufnehmen kann, sich einschreibt als Raumgefüge, als Ensemble von Relationen und Korrelationen, von 'objective correlatives'. Wie die Rahmen warten die Kleider auf ihre Bildträger, auf den Augenblick, die Geste, mit der das Bild vom imaginären Ich erscheint. Die Titel der 'objective correlatives' von Sissa Micheli insistieren auf das Begehren, einer Vorstellung zu entsprechen, ein Bild zu sein: I want to be a dreamhouse, I want to be a helicopter, I want to be a patriot... wie ein Name, ein Eigenname, ein Label, das niemandem gehört und doch das Bild einer Identität verspricht: I want to be Nanushka, I want to be Meshit, I want to be Robert..." n Kooperation mit dem Springfestival präsentiert Werner Jauk die Installation PARA-SONIC 3.0 im Künstlerhaus KM–, Halle für Kunst & Medien. PARA-SONIC 3.0 stellt den künstlerischen Erfahrungsbereich in den Lebensbereich des Springfestivals und transferiert die Bühnen der Avantgarden in die hedonischen Events der Every Day Culture. www.springfestival.at

Hinter der Installation von Werner Jauk (geboren 1953, lebt in Graz) steht ein Konzept, das sich mit Klang-Körper-Interaktion auseinandersetzt und auf anderes sensorisches Erleben übertragen wird. Das Publikum wird durch intensive Sounds und ihre körperliche Stimulation zur kollektiven Bewegung angeregt, durch die Tanzbewegungen des Publikums werden wiederum Klänge, Licht, Gerüche oder gezielte Luftbewegungen erzeugt. Zur Umsetzung dieses Konzepts werden zusätzlich zu Tracking-Systemen, die emotionales Bewegungsverhalten „erkennen“, ein Acousmonium, Lichtdevices und gezielt steuerbare Ventilationssysteme eingesetzt. Ziel ist eine innovative multisensorische Reizerzeugung bei den PartizipientInnen, die dem Publikum eine ungewohnte und neue Erfahrung bieten wird. Technische Mediatisierung hat das Maß des mechanischen Körpers im „rasenden Stillstand“ (Paul Virilio) der Virtualität überschritten. Interaktionen mit dieser Umwelt finden in einer „all-at-onceness“ (Marshall McLuhan) statt – der Wahrnehmungsart des Hörens. PARA SONIC 3.0 thematisiert das erregende Hören von Bewegungen, das performativ in sozialen Situationen wirkt, und übertr.gt dieses Embodiment als intermediale Transposition auf das Sehen, das Riechen, das Spüren.
Das kollektive und kollektivierende informelle Interagieren/Tanzen dient dabei als Paradigma zum Erleben einer notwendigerweise hedonischen Lebensform des Körpers in einer neuen digitalisierten Kultur.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Werner Jauk ist Leiter des sozial-/kulturwissenschaftlichen Arbeitsbereichs Pop/Musik + Medien/Kunst am Institut für Musikwissenschaft der Universität Graz. 1986 Gründung von „grelle musik“, einem Experiment zwischen Wissenschaft und Kunst, 1997 Gründung von „pop-cult“, einem interdisziplinären Arbeitskreis. With the opening of a temporary pop-up store in Graz, Sissa Micheli (born 1975 in Bruneck, Austria) approximates the junctions between art and fashion. In a sense, the artist draws an interdisciplinary seam around the fashion of young designers and the works of fellow artists.

In the context of the social, the constellation of different people and identities establishes an ensemble—and hence a form of commonality against a horizon of difference. In the context of art, the term assemblage stands for the act of associating various objects with a common configuration—and hence a form of relations with a view to heterogeneity. Let’s say, an ensemble of objects which, on account of the differences connecting them, results in a cluster of relations: a figure of heterogeneity. Sissa Micheli links her assemblages to the term “objective correlative”, which alludes to T. S. Eliot and literary combinations of actions, objects, and images. Invited to participate in the ensemble of art and fashion of the S/GHT POP UP project shown at the Künstlerhaus KM– in Graz, Sissa Micheli suggested carrying the concept further: to find a form that facilitates a re-association of relations among heterogeneous objects and materials, between genres and disciplines, between art and fashion. In the context of her work, the artist will be designing a display that will integrate the various S/GHT fashion labels so as to configure an ensemble of clothing, art, and imagery in the exhibition space. The main motif here is focused on picture frames that, in contrast to their usual use, are affixed to the wall at an angle of 90 degrees and thus project out into the room. In this way, they offer the necessary structure for hanging up clothes. The titles of the “objective correlatives” by Sissa Micheli insist upon desire, on conforming to an idea, on being an image: “I want to be a dreamhouse, I want to be a helicopter, I want to be a patriot . . .”—like a name, a personal name, a label that belongs to no one and yet promises the glimpse of an identity: “I want to be Nanushka, I want to be MESHIT, I want to be Base Range . . . Artist and musicologist Werner Jauk presents the installation “PARA SONIC 3.0”, which makes the perceptual facets of listening experienceable on multiple sensory levels.

This installation by Werner Jauk (born 1953, lives in Graz) is based on a concept that explores sound–body interaction and is translated into a different sensory experience. The audience is encouraged to move collectively to intensive sounds and bodily stimulation, while the dancing motion of the audience in turn engenders sounds, light, smells, and targeted airflow. In realising this concept, tracking systems were developed to “recognise” emotional physical activity, but the piece also features an acousmonium, light devices, and selectively controllable ventilation systems. The objective is to foster multisensory stimulation on the part of the participants, who are to provide the audience with a new and unfamiliar experience.
Technical mediatisation has overstepped the measure of the human body in a “racing standstill” (Paul Virilio) of virtuality. Interactions with this environment take place in a state of “all-at-onceness” (Marshall McLuhan)—of a perceptual take on listening. PARA SONIC 3.0 thematically explores the energised act of listening to movement, which has a performative effect in social situations, and transfers this embodiment to seeing, smelling, and sensing as intermediatic transposition. Here, informal interaction/dancing—collective and collectivising—serves as a paradigm for experiencing an inevitably hedonistic, bodily life-form in a new digitalised culture. Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Werner Jauk is the director of the social and cultural studies workspace Pop/Music + Media/Art in the Institute of Musicology at Karl Franzens University in Graz. In 1986 he founded “grelle musik”, an experiment involving science and art, and in 1997 he established “pop-cult”, an interdisciplinary working group. Jauk has also realised projects that are positioned between science and art within the realm of media art.
