 Unnatural Ways
 
 Unnatural Ways is the main project of Brooklyn-based guitarist Ava
Mendoza (Carla Bozulich, Fred Frith). The band consists of the
inimitable Tim Dahl (Child Abuse, Lydia Lunch Retrovirus)- bass and
Nick Podgurski (ex Extra Life, Feast of the Epiphany)- drums.
 UW’s sound marries the intense energy of early free jazz to
instantly memorable songs. Winding
their way through complex heavy
rock, avant jazz and warped, noisy blues, the players push the
boundaries of their own vocabularies and the written music to put on
powerful and unpredictable live shows.

 Trans/Human
 
 Adam Denton and Luke Twyman began collaborating under the name
Trans/Human at The Audacious Art Experiment HQ in Sheffield during
2011.
 
 Employing several noise making devices
and techniques in their
performances, including mobile phones, radio, cassett! e tape,
prepared electric guitar, processed drums, strobe lighting, contact
microphones, field recordings and feedback systems, Trans/Human’s
concerns lie within the physical act of music making and its
relationship to environment and audience. Through their collaboration
the duo sought to reflect their inclination towards creating
ritualized sonic and visual experiences via a series of improvised
performances, resulting in releases, The 8 Hour Dance (The Audacious
Art Experiment 2011) and The Wider (Blackest Rainbow 2012).
 
 Forthcoming LP, The (Un)Expected, recorded at Audacious Space,
Sheffield, is due out on The Audacious Art Experiment in March 2014 to
coincide with a UK/European tour.

 Trans/Human’s improvised performances led to important
collaborations with New Aktionist artists Nick Kilby and Kris Kanavan.
Th! roughout 2012/13
Trans/Human have developed their performances to
use the artist’s body as a conduit between noise and audience.
 
 Trans/Human have toured the UK and Europe, including appearances at
the Festival de M.A.I. in Nice alongside Jean Marc Montera (2012),
Tapette Fest in Bretagne (2012), Festival of the Mind, Sheffield
(September 2012) and SpaceFest in Gdansk (2013). In March 2013,
Trans/Human headed out to the west coast of Scotland in the Audacious
Mobile Research Library (A.M.R.L.). They roamed in their motor home,
collecting rogue radio frequencies and playing a number of isolated
and impromptu performances. An exhibition based on the trip is
scheduled throughout 2014.
