Im Rahmen ihres Vortrags wird Ivana Marjanović eine Auswahl ihrer kuratorischen und theoretischen Arbeit der letzten Jahre präsentieren und über Politik und Ästhetik der Vernetzung reflektieren.

Marjanović führte 2010 (gemeinsam mit Eduard Freudmann) Regie beim Film „Uglyville – A Contention of Anti-Romaism in Europe”, der ihren Text „Contention of Anti-Romaism as a Part of the Process of the Decoloniality of Europe“ zur Grundlage hat. Der Film stellt eine kritische Analyse der wechselseitigen Beziehung von Rassismus und Kapitalismus im so genannten neuen Europa (Europa nach 1989) dar, aber auch eine Analyse widerständiger Strategien gegen deren Dominanz.

Marjanović wurde 1979 in Jugoslawien geboren und lebt seit 2006 in Wien. Sie ist Kunsthistorikerin, Forschende und Kulturschaffende im Bereich der Cultural Studies, der zeitgenössischen Kunst und Theorie, Autorin, Kuratorin, Mitbegründerin der Galerie Kontekst in Belgrad und Mitglied des Kontekst-Kollektivs. Derzeit arbeitet sie an ihrer Doktorarbeit und damit zusammenhängend am Forschungsprojekt „Kvar Performance Politics" unterstützt von daskunst /DIVERCITYLAB in Wien.

*„Ästhetik der Vernetzung" bezieht sich auf die „Politik der Vernetzung", ein Konzept des politischen Handelns, welches in der zweiten Hälfte der Nullerjahre vom transnationalen Kollektiv QueerBeograd ausgearbeitet wurde.

In her lecture Ivana Marjanović will present a selection from her curatorial and theoretical work of recent years and reflect on politics and aesthetics of interconnectedness.

In 2010, Marjanović directed (together with Eduard Freudmann) the film "Uglyville - A Contention of Anti-Romaism in Europe" that is based on her text "Contention of Anti-Romaism as a Part of the Process of the Decoloniality of Europe". The film is a critical analysis of the interrelation of racism and capitalism in so called New Europe (Europe after 1989) but also an exposure of strategies of resistance to their dominance.

Marjanović was born in 1979 in Yugoslavia and lives in Vienna since 2006. She is an art historian, cultural studies researcher, author, curator, cultural producer in the field of contemporary arts and theory, co-founder of the Kontekst Gallery in Belgrade, and member of Kontekst Collective. At the moment she is working on her PhD and related to it on the research project "Kvar Performance Politics" supported by daskunst / DIVERCITYLAB in Vienna.

*"Aesthetics of Interconnectedness" is a reference to "Politics of Interconnectedness", a concept of political acting proposed during the second half of 2000s by the transnational collective QueerBeograd.
