Sehr geehrte Unterstützer_innen und  liebe Freund_innen der Galerie para_SITE

Diesen Freitag, 18.3. 2011 um 19.00 Uhr eröffnen wir die Ausstellung WIDE SCOPE von Christina Starzer, Absolventin der Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Wien.

Im Rahmen der Galerientage Aktuelle Kunst in Graz wird es am 9.4. um 12.00 Uhr ein Künstlergespräch geben.

Die Installation WIDE SCOPE, deutsch, „Großer Handlungsspielraum“ setzt sich mit dem Galerieraum para_SITE auf mehreren räumlichen Ebenen auseinander und referenziert die spielerische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Raum und die Erfahrbarkeit für all unsere Sinne.

„Der Handlungsspielraum, beschreibt prägnant meine künstlerische Herangehensweise. Für meine Skulpturen, Grafiken und Installationen versuche ich neue technische Möglichkeiten zu entwickeln, Lösungen für den gezielten Umgang mit der Idee zu finden. Meist dienen vorgefundene, aus Antiquariaten ersteigerte Objekte- (deren genaue Bedeutung oftmals ungewiss bleibt) und deren Invertierung als Basis für die künstlerische Praxis.“ sagt Starzer
 
Die Soundskulptur „Vogelstrauß“ erzeugt einen KlangRAUM, unsichtbar jedoch hörbar wahrnehmbar, ergänzt durch Prétâge Grafiken, eine eigens entwickelte Zeichentechnik der dreidimensionalen Bildgebung, als Fortsetzung des räumlichen Diskurses.

We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition WIDE SCOPE by Christina Starzer, THIS Friday, 18th March 2011 at 7.00 p.m.

Christina Starzer graduated from the University of Applied Arts in 2010 and lives and works in Vienna and Lower-Austria.

In the framework of the Gallery Days Aktuelle Kunst in Graz an artist talk will take place on 9th of April 2011 at 12.00 p.m.

The installation WIDE SCOPE engages with the spatial conditions of the para_SITE Gallery on multi-facetted levels, referring to the playful engagement with the space as well as symbolising the multi-layered experience for all our senses.
WIDE SCOPE precisely describes my artistic approach. For my sculptures, graphical works and installations I am trying to develop new techniqual solutions for the systematic exposure with the idea. The basis for the artistic practise most of the time steem from antiquarian objects and their inversion (although their original purpose often remains uncertain) says Starzer.

The sound sculpture „Vogel Strauß“ creates a SOUNDspace, invisible but audititorily perceivable supplemented by Prétâge graphics, a specially developed drawing technique of three-dimensional visualization, continuing the spatial discourse.
