Namenlos, ohne Alter und Herkunft, scheinbar anonym oder der Lebenslauf als
Maß jeglicher 
Kunstproduktion? Ausgehend vom in der Literaturkritik begründeten "Tod des
Autors" (Roland 
Barthes) hinterfragt die Ausstellung eine vom zeitgenössischen Kunstmarkt
forcierte Orientierung 
an Subjekt und Lebenslauf als bedeutungsstiftende Kriterien bei der
Bewertung von Kunst. Die 
gezeigten Positionen verhandeln das theoretische Konzept der
AutorInnenschaft und reflektieren
es im aktuellen medialen Kontext neu. Das Zitat – intertextuelles Mittel und
Methode der 
Aneignung bestehender (künstlerischer) Äußerungen – steht ebenso zur Debatte
wie die als 
substanziell betrachteten Kategorien von Originalität und Authentizität in
ihrem Zusammenspiel

Nameless, ageless and without descent, seemingly anonymous or the biography
as measure
of all art production? Starting from the “Death of the Author” (Roland
Barthes), the 
exhibition UNTITLED. The Author Entitles Texts By Experimenting With Art.
questions 
an art market-driven orientation towards subject and biography as meaningful
criteria 
in the valuation of art. The works on show analyse the theoretical concept
of authorship 
and reconsider it in the light of the current medial context. The citing –
intertextual means 
and method of appropriation of the existing (artistic) expression - as well
as the considered
substantial categories of originality and authenticity when interacting with
respect to art
production and art reception, are open to debate. MORE
