Art's Birthday - der Geburtstag der Kunst - wurde 1963 von dem 
franzoesischen Fluxuskuenstler Robert Filliou ausgerufen. Filliou 
behauptete damals, dass die Kunst vor 1 Million Jahren ganz ploetzlich 
geboren worden sei - und zwar exakt am 17.Jaenner. Die Geburt der Kunst 
passierte - laut Filliou -, als jemand einen trockenen Schwamm in ein 
Gefaess voller Wasser fallen liess.

Filliou schlug 1963 vor, den 17. Jaenner ab sofort zum Feiertag zu 
erklaeren - als Hommage an die Praesenz der Kunst in unserer Gesellschaft. 
In den vergangenen Jahren haben immer mehr KuenstlerInnen in aller Welt 
diese Idee aufgegriffen und Geburtstagsfeiern aller Art fuer die Kunst 
veranstaltet -- u.a. auch in Form von telematischen Events, d.h. die an 
verschiedenen Orten der Welt Feiernden waren ueber Leitungen und/oder das 
Internet miteinander verbunden. Wie so oft ist auch heuer wieder das 
KUNSTRADIO ein Knotenpunkt der globalen Art's Birthday Party sein, die 
unter dem Thema "Forever Young" steht.

In 1963 the French Fluxus artist, Robert Filliou, declared January 17 to 
be the 1,000,000th birthday of art which for some decades now has been 
celebrated worldwide. As in the previous years, in 2008 artists all over 
the world will organise a networked birthday party for art. In many 
places the motto of this year's celebrations will be "Forever Young".

Kunstradio has invited several artists and groups to join the worldwide 
Art's Birthday Party with unique, breathtaking and - forever young! - 
eternally fresh live performances. We contribute live at Studio 4 two 
brand new pieces:
