Try adding snd-sb16 to /etc/modules.

Try adding:

alias tulip off

to your /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist as well (that's the trick grml's
"blacklist" command does additionally to the simple "blacklist"
statement).

IIRC pppoe-setup can generate a /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf file.
