What I hoped to be included in grml-medium the most is the samba
(related) packages, so that it is easy to share files between my grml host
and grml-medium VMware virtual machine. Moreover, the CD can work out of
the box with the Windows shares that I need to access 99.99% of times when
I need the live system. 

The other tool that comes handy is:

meld - graphical tool to diff and merge files

super slim & fast, but super powerful.
