 Positionen in der Kunst (2), zum "World Radio Day"
 Ist Radio das akustische Raumschiff in die Zukunft? alien productions ist eine internationale Künstlergruppe, die 1997 von Andrea Sodomka, Martin Breindl, Norbert Math und August Black gegründet wurde. Ihr Tätigkeitsfeld umfasst Intermediaperformances und -installationen, Sound Art, Elektronische Musik, Netz- und Radiokunst, Interaktive und bildende Kunst. Thematisiert wird Utopie, Urbanität, Echtzeit, der Alltag oder Technologie. "Radio ist denkbar als Vorform des Reisens der Zukunft", findet Martin Breindl eine Analogie zum Beamen in der Science-Fiction. Radiokunst überwindet durch Übertragung zeitliche und räumliche Barrieren und ist eine Vorstufe zum digitalen Raum, der uns gegenwärtig umgibt. alien productions entwickelte bereits Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts Kunst für das World Wide Web, wie das Internet anfangs genannt wurde.

 Umwelt - der Sound der Umgebung: Das Klangatoll von Andrea Sodomka / Martin Breindl
 In der künstlerisch gestalteten Umgebung rund um Paasdorf entstanden zwischen 1994 und 2000 Arbeiten, die bis heute zu zentralen Kunstwerken im öffentlichen Raum in Niederösterreich zählen. Letztes Jahr wurde unter anderem das Klangatoll von Andrea Sodomka und Martin Breindl technisch erneuert und baulich rekonstruiert. Das komplexeste und gleichermaßen fragilste Projekt der Kulturlandschaft, das Klangatoll von Sodomka/Breindl, setzt Natur und Klang ausgeklügelt miteinander in Verbindung.

 Is radio the acoustic spaceship to the future? alien productions is an international group of artists founded in 1997 by Andrea Sodomka, Martin Breindl, Norbert Math and August Black. Their field of activity includes intermedia performances and installations, sound art, electronic music, net and radio art, interactive and visual art. Utopia, urbanity, real time, everyday life and technology a.o. are addressed. "Radio can be seen as a preliminary form of travelling in the future," Martin Breindl finds an analogy to beaming in science fiction. Radio art overcomes temporal and spatial barriers through transmission and is a precursor to the digital space that currently surrounds us. alien productions was already developing art for the World Wide Web, as the Internet was initially called, at the end of the 20th century.

 Environment - the sound of the surroundings: The sound atoll by Andrea Sodomka / Martin Breindl
 Between 1994 and 2000, several works were created in the artistically landscaped environment around Paasdorf that are still among the central works of art in public space in Lower Austria today. Last year one of them, the Klangatoll (sound atoll) by Andrea Sodomka and Martin Breindl was technically renovated and structurally reconstructed. The most complex and equally fragile project in the cultural landscape, the Klangatoll by Sodomka/Breindl, combines nature and sound in an ingenious way.
