The Jan van Eyck Academie is inviting candidates to submit proposals
for its Theory department. The Theory department is an international
platform for reflection and research. Its mission is to offer a
stimulating environment for critical inquiry and intense debate. The
Jan van Eyck is not a degree institution. Therefore, not being
restricted by any obligations, researchers are free to work on their
own projects and to engage in discussion. The Theory department offers
seminars, symposia, and conferences as challenges to researchers to
explore alternative ways of shaping their intellectual horizons. Such
explorations may take various material forms, such as the production of
articles or books, exhibitions or performances, the organization of
symposia, ... The Theory department welcomes applications from
researchers of unusual promise, who pursue their artistic and/or
intellectual vision anywhere on the interface of critical theory,
philosophy, aesthetics, and psychoanalysis with the visual arts.

Research Facilities
--	Candidates who are selected obtain the status of researcher in the
Theory department at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
--	Researchers are entitled to the artistic, general and technical
preconditions stipulated by the Jan van Eyck Academie. He/she receives
a stipend of 8.840,- euro a year paid, in 13 installments.

Application details
--	Research candidates should submit a research proposal (maximum of
1000 words, appendix allowed), a bibliography, a motivation, a CV and
documentation together with a Jan van Eyck application form.
Application forms can be downloaded at www.janvaneyck.nl.
--	Candidates are asked to state the duration (for a maximum of 24
months) of their research period and the beginning of their research
period.
--	The application fee is EUR 60. The application will only be dealt with
if this amount is transferred before the application deadline. See for
