| WORLD OF FEMALE AVATARS | is a net art project for expanded understanding of
women and their relation to their body at the beginning of the 21st century.
By using the internet as an artistic survey media as many entries of body
pictures and text as possible from different cultures around the world are
collected by involving the public into the project.
Through a digital collage the material is transformed into new bodies – the
female avatars, living in their virtual world, telling an individual story.
The debate of body in media art and in this project is as follows: draft of
third sex, emphasis of traditional visions of sex, disclosure of construction
of social sex (gender), development of new body language.
