[cdp] Experience with new binaries

Hi Archer,
CCing the list,

we tried installing a provisonal .mpkg kindly provided by Archer (thank
you!) with OS X binaries compiled for 64bit OS X of its current version.

OS X did ask whether the software should be installed system-wide or not
but at the same time that dialog did only offer the option of
installation in the user's home directory.

The CDP binaries were then found from within the Terminal's zsh as the
path is not set as part of the mpkg-installation. We did then add the
path to ~/.zshrc manually. This made things work, we tested only the CDP
programs on the command line as this is our preferred way of working and
they execute fine on current 64bit OS X.
