|||  W E  R i d e r s    P r o j e c t  |||

                 Oakland, CA              

               May - July 2006

 

--> WE Riders, a creative research project by the marksearch team (Bruce Douglas + Sue Mark), will help West and East Oakland residents physically locate, culturally define and celebrate their neighborhoods.  WE Riders will travel via tandem bicycle around the city throughout May, June, + July, 2006 collecting stories and images that will be displayed on a traveling kiosk.  

 

--> WE Riders will launch their project on May 18, "Bike to Work Day".  They will participate in Oakland's city-wide event from 7-9AM at Frank Ogawa Plaza in downtown Oakland.  WE Riders will participate in neighborhood parties and street fairs throughout the summer.
