H-TRAVEL

H-TRAVEL is an electronic network for the academic discussion of the
history of travel and tourism. Established in April 2003, it has nearly
400 subscribers from throughout the world. It is affiliated with the
international H-Net group of history/humanities electronic newsletters.

H-TRAVEL welcomes professionals in the field of history and in other
related fields, as well as non-professionals, interested in its subject.
Its focus is on the history of travel and tourism from the beginnings
through the present and future, throughout the world and beyond. The
languages of communication for the list are English, French, German, and
Spanish. In its brief existence, H-TRAVEL has begun to provide a lively
forum for the history of travel and tourism. It has hosted discussions
on the nature of tourism, announcements of professional meetings and
calls for papers, bibliographic aids, occasional book reviews, and
related teaching resources both print and electronic.

H-TRAVEL also maintains a site on the World Wide Web. The site is
located on the H-Net server at Michigan State University in East
Lansing, Michigan, USA. It may be consulted by visiting:
