Hello, i have installed grml squeeze on a asus eeepc 1005ha-m. I sue speakup and brltty, because i am blind.
Now i want to use gnomes-orca with firefox and openoffice with gnome.
At the moment i do not have installed gnome. If i do:
grml-x
the xserver starts, but i can not come back to the textconsole. ctrl-alt- f(x) will not work, also not the ctrl-alt-bacspace to shutdown the xserver.
How can i set the xorg correct for the asus 1005ha-m?
How can i start the xserver to console tty7? On my system are only the consoles tty1 to tty6for switching between themself configurede, ist that correct?
Can i use orca with fluxbox?
Thanks for your help and regards.

... why not try ADRIANE-KNOPPIX 6.4.4. CD? ftp://mirror.informatik.uni-mannheim.de/pub/linux/distributions/knoppix/
It is a special version for blind peoples Klaus Knopper has developed because his wife is also blind.

There is also vinux, a ubuntu fork for blind users:

I am also blind but I usually use grml in character mode.

This sounds strange. Are you speaking about Grml 2010.12?
How can i set the xorg correct for the asus 1005ha-m?
It's supposed to work out of the box, if not it's either a bug in X.org or in your hardware. :)
How can i start the xserver to console tty7?
Should be the default, but you can force it running 'grml-x --force --display 7 ...'
On my system are only the consoles tty1 to tty6for switching between themself configurede, ist that correct?
For grml2hd: yes.
Can i use orca with fluxbox?
Could work (never tried on my own though), but at least until you've a working setup I recommend using it inside gnome before. Installing gnome-core and 'grml-x gnome-session' (IIRC it's called gnome-session) should do that.
Hope this helps,

This helps a lot. I've also been having trouble using grml-x from a grml-small iso. I haven't complained since it's a grml-small squeeze iso I made with grml-live.

Yeah, the official grml-small doesn't ship X.org. :)
BTW: I strongly recommend using grml-medium as a base for remastering (in general, unless you have a really good reason to do otherwise :)), especially if you want to use X.org.

Hallo Mika,
thanks for your answer. Also i have shown the netbook after start grml-x with fluxbox to a seeing person. They told me, that there is a winter picture and aclock at the bottom. But nothing habpens, if i press some keys as alt-tab ctrl-alt-tab alt-f1 ... And i can not shutdown the xserver or stop fluxbox and there is not textconsole with speakup for me.
Regards Dietmar
