Missing parameter in syslinux.cfg.
after hitting enter after boot:
I got:
Could not find kernel image: grml
Looks like syslinux.cfg contains keywords which your
syslinux
version does not like.
Yes, that was exactly the reason. The syslinux that I used was too old for grml. Problem solved after using the right version.
* Get the grml iso (and verifed the md5sum) * Mount the iso loopback (e.g. mount -o loop

JFYI: grml2usb automates all those steps for you. ;)
Hmm, would grml2usb still works running from USB? it was meant to run from CD originally I believe, just checking.
