Hi mika,
I tried the -medium release earlier today, as I wanted to backup files off a Windows machine.
I should've looked at grml.org/files first, but I found sshfs, ntfs-3g and rdiff-backup were all missing. Since they're fairly small and quite useful for getting things off Windows partitions, I wondered if they could be included in -medium by default?
Cheers.

I really enjoy receiving useful package requests for grml-medium.
I'll discuss your feature requests with other devs and will integrate packages that are considered for official inclusion within grml-medium for the stable release.

What I hoped to be included in grml-medium the most is the samba (related) packages, so that it is easy to share files between my grml host and grml-medium VMware virtual machine. Moreover, the CD can work out of the box with the Windows shares that I need to access 99.99% of times when I need the live system.
The other tool that comes handy is:
meld - graphical tool to diff and merge files
super slim & fast, but super powerful.

Alright, we will check this out the developer metting at the weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry, absolutely no chance. The:
| Depends: python, python-support (>= 0.7.1), python-gtk2 (>= 2.4), python-glade2 (>= 2.4), python-gnome2
would pull in tons of packages.

Oh, didn't know that. Sure no problem.
How about readcd, the CD low-level checking tool?

Being packages cdrecord/wodim, yeah - good idea.
