Hello,
when I try to check the md5 hash of the grml 0.4 iso file downloaded at URL:http://ftp.tugraz.at/mirror/grml/ I get a different hash than is provided in file grml_0.4.iso.md5:
D:>gpg --print-md md5 grml_0.4.iso grml_0.4.iso: E9 D4 D5 AF B9 66 AE 4A E8 5E 35 9E A2 65 2E 5C
The hash I downloaded is
995303be163f3248ada398ec01928500 grml_0.4.iso
Before downloading the iso again I'd like to ask if the md5 check sums could be out-of-sync? The file size of the iso file I downloaded is 729.321.472 bytes.

Hi,
German?
Hast du schonmal die Hash mit einem anderem Programm versucht zu ueberpruefen? Zum Beispiel mit MD5Summer[1]?

Hi,
I got the same hash as Stephan:
thomas@brezel:/mnt/hdb1/images$ md5sum grml_0.4.iso 995303be163f3248ada398ec01928500 grml_0.4.iso
So is the md5sum in http://ftp.tugraz.at/mirror/grml/grml_0.4.iso.md5 . Stephan, maybe you got a old md5sum with a newer iso file?
Thomas

But computing the md5 hash on my iso yields a different value. It seems to be corrupted. I try to download it again this evening and let you know.

From what I understand the 995303be163f3248ada398ec01928500 hash should
be correct. But are there any newer files that I should take care of?

You don't need to dowload the whole image file again. Just use rsync against your current iso.
Cheers, Tobias

I contacted the person who is responsible for the FTP-mirror @ TUG. The md5sum seems to be wrong on the mirror itself. Very interesting that there seem to be no problems with the ISO anyway. A new sync to main mirror (gwendoline) has been started, but I don't know the status yet. I'll let you know any news.
In the meantime you could get the ISO via http://grml.gwendoline.at/ or even better just rsync it with rsync://grml.gwendoline.at/grml

Unfortunately I deleted the corrupted file shortly before Tobias' suggestion to use rsync. So I had to download the whole file again, this time via rsync and the above mentioned link and every thing went fine. Thanks to all of you!

German?
Yes, but is this a German list?

Yes, I checked with rehash before writing the mail. And I did now with md5summer. Same results as with gpg. Seems as if I have to download the iso again. (And I _did_ use a download manager, grml.)
