Re: [Grml] Grml is mmazing Linux distribution

There is something wrong here. If you cannot boot your grml installation on the hard disk then you have been trying to install gnome into a running liveCD. Then you will have used up all the RAM. Have I not understood properly?

PS Janusz, your replies have been coming to me personally and so I've been quoting you in full in order that others at grml@mur.at may understand.

In the past, approximately before 10 years or sooner, visually impaired users were not able to use such applications like standalone .bootable .iso images for rescue partitions. Thanks to Grml, which is containing The latest awailable opensource and high quality administrative tools, and brltty, yasr and speakup are included, visually impaired user can have The maximum control on their linux installation Unfortunately, i can not finish installation of Gnome by using apt-get install gnome
After downloading, when retreiving bug reports appears, it stop at The 0 percent and it halts. Very interesting think.

Janusz,
This is the man page for grml2hd. If you are not exhausted and disenchanted by the effort please give it a read. http://grml.org/grml2hd/grml2hd.html
It gives GRML2HD_NONINTERACTIVE=1 grml2hd partition=/dev/sdsa5 mbr=/dev/sda5 filesystem=ext3 user=janusz
(the last goes all on one line) Debian will still ask for your real name to personalise some things. The file to edit is /etc/grml/config - - -
If you do manage to install OK then make a grub floppy. As root do grub - which gives you a grub prompt
grub> root (hd04)
Which is grub talk for sda5. Then put a formatted floppy in the drive and do
grub> setup (fd0)
This floppy will boot straight into your installed system. Then to boot XP you only have to take the floppy out and it boots as normal.
Best Wishes Moss
