Grml Medium on Acer Aspire AS5536

Hi,
This is a report of things don't work on an Acer Aspire AS5536. http://us.acer.com/acer/productv.do? LanguageISOCtxParam=en&kcond61e.c2att101=57644&sp=page16e&ctx2.c2att1=25&link=ln438e&CountryISOCtxParam=US&ctx1g.c2att92=447&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=1731859535
............................................................................
Is X running at the correct resolution?
Not sure, since xwininfo is not installed. but xrandr reports wrong resolution.
3-D Acceleration?
Probably not, since glxinfo is not available/installed.
Does the trackpad work? Partially.
* Does it move the mouse pointer? Yes * Does the right hand side emulate a mouse scroll wheel? No * Does the trackpad single click, click & hold work? No
Does the sound work? Yes, the speaker-test works.
Does pressing the volume hotkeys raise, lower and mute volume?
Yes for raise, lower volume -- there is dialog appearing on screen showing the current volume. But mute doesn't work.
Does pressing the sleep button cause the machine to sleep? No
Is CPU frequency scaling supported? No
sudo invoke-rc.d powernowd start
shows the error
required sysfs object not found.
............................................................................
The most important thing to note is that, all above things don't work under Grml Medium works fine out of box in Unbunto.
Most of them are fundamental features, IMHO. Hope that future Grml Medium may include some of the above fundamental features.
Thanks

but 'soundtest' fails on Grml Medium.
Power Management of the screen? No.
The machine's screen should go blank and then suspended after some time. but it isn't.
Does pressing the sleep button cause the machine to sleep? No
How can I make it happen if I've done the HD installation?
Thanks

Looks like pretty fresh hardware, right?

xdpyinfo | grep -e resolution -e dimension

Absolutely not a goal for live grml.

Please use cpufreq-info instead.

[1] Please grab a sid based daily ISO from http://daily.grml.org/ and give it a shot. They provide current X.org and a newer kernel version. And please be aware of the fact that some of the above tested features aren't in the core goals of live grml (even though it's nice if it works, but usually we put our developers time in other areas), whereas Ubuntu is optimized for those desktop tasks.

Thanks for your reply mika.
Just FYI, neither xdpyinfo or cpufreq-info is available in the Grml Medium that I have, which is grml-medium_2009.05. I'll try a sid based daily ISO also.
thanks
