Hello,
I am just getting started with grml as of today.
I am blind, and would like to install grml onto my hard drive. I downloaded the latest iso image: grml_2009.05.iso
After looking at teh menu.lst file, it looks like I need to specify that I use teh grml-hd menu option, but I need to add the brltty and ppossibly speakup parameters to teh kernel, and I am not quite sure how to do that.
My second alternative would be to install grml from teh running liveCD once I get brltty and speakup running successfully.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

That would be better. You should look at the following URL: http://www.mwhapples.plus.com/ You find a lot of useful tips and walkthroughs regarding Linux/GRML. In addition, you should take a look at the possibility to install a plain Debian from within GRML: man grml-debootstrap. Hermann

Hello, Hermann got there before me. The only thing I would add as the author of the page/podcast is that although the audio walkthrough is for GRML 2008.11 the process is very much the same for GRML 2009.5 (I think possibly identical).
I also would suggest booting into the live CD and installing from there, I think that offers greater flexibility of the install process. Also if you are using software speech output it is possible to modify the installed system from the live CD to make it come up speaking automatically (IE. no need to type swspeak when booting finishes), my audio walkthrough tells you how to do this.
