grml startet nicht (mounting /cdrom/GRML/GRML failed)
Hallo,
leider startet grml nicht auf meinem Laptop (Start von CD). Die div. Schnittstellen (USB, Firewire, etc.) werden gesucht, allerdings taucht anschließend folgende Fehlermeldung auf:
mount: Mounting /cdrom/GRML/GRML on /GRML failed: Invalid argument Can't find grml filesystem, sorry.
Die Zeile direkt davor besagt nur: Accessing grml CD-ROM at: /dev/hdc [ok]
Ich verwende grml 0.8 auf einem HP Omnibook 6100. ACPI-Probleme o.ä. hatte ich auf dem Gerät eigentlich noch nie.
Natürlich habe ich auch schon mit "grml acpi=off noapm noapic" sowie Kombinationen mit "failsafe" gestartet, allerdings ohne dass sich im Ergebnis irgendetwas verändert hätte. Bei "debug" weiß ich nicht so recht, was ich eingeben soll.
Was kann ich noch machen, um den Fehler zu diagnostizieren bzw. vielleicht sogar zu beheben? Ich hoffe mal, mein Problem ist keine FAQ, jedenfalls habe ich nichts entsprechendes in der FAQ oder im Wiki gefunden.

Looks like there are problems with the squashfs file, see "Booting fails with 'mount: Mounting /cdrom/GRML/GRML on /GRML failed: Invalid argument'" in the grml-wiki -> http://wiki.grml.org/doku.php?id=problems
If the md5-check is OK please also check the CD low-level via running 'readcd -c2scan dev=/dev/cdrom'.

Thanks for pointing to the relevant page. In fact, I searched for "invalid argument" and DokuWiki displayed only one of two hit contexts on this page so I didn't actually read it - I know, its a lame excuse ;-)
The downloaded ISO was okay though but "cat /dev/hdc | md5sum" returns a different one so I guess, I should try again...
Sorry for bothering, a really stupid mistake by me, I should have checked that before posting. Thanks for helping so fast, though :-)

I had the same problem. Downloaded the image at university with firefox, went down in about one minute without any problems and the iso did not work at all. Trying to open the "readme.txt" just gave me binary content, and I am not sure why. Anyway - works now, and is great :-)
