
Hi, The screenreader that you get when booting with swspeak is called speakup. The homepage is http://linux-speakup.org. There is a user's guide on that site. If you cannot find it, I'll be more than glad to send a copy via email.
PS. there have been a couple of new blind grml'ers in the last week or so; very cool.

Sorry i've been so long replying, but thanks everyone for your help. I am really enjoying using grml now that I can actually read the screen properly.
