I have Debian Unstable + grml-etc-core on my 901, and i think the webcam "just worked" quite all kernels i did try. ( tested with "mplayer tv://" )
However, i do now run a 2.6.28-rc kernel because i had problems with alsa, wlan and suspend/resume with older kernels.
( if you want to try my latest build: http://s8472.dyndns.org/~worf/linux-image-2.6.28-rc7_custom.1.0_i386.deb )
