It seems that I got hit by this bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=959236
There are multiple "source /etc/network/interfaces.d/*" lines in /e/n/interfaces which I do not know if is a real issue of just cosmetic.
