date shows as expected, NY time, I can set locale to none, en_GB, en_US or whatever, and it works perfectly.
Now, I could use kdm, if I wished, which I don't, (but I like everything to work ;) )but every time dependent thing, calendars, etc, now works right from angfang on.
So, both issues, time and charset were related, I did not know how, but you, as always, solved the issue.
