[Grml] Alsa can't find mixer /dev/PCM

Hi

when I started up XMMS with the alsa output plugin. I get:

** WARNING **: alsa_setup_mixer(): Failed to find mixer element: /dev/PCM

How do I (re)create /dev/pcm?
