I use debian sid mainly and tried Rox, XFE, Xffm and couldn't get on with any of them. I found emelfm which I use now and quite like; it's not pretty but the functionality and stability seems superior to those others.

Thanks for mentioning it, Clive - I've added it to the grml chroot, let's see whether people like it. :)
