/Krisen allerorts – Kriege, Flüchlingsströme, Pandemien, Unwetterkatastrophen, verschmutzte Meere und Böden, belastetes Trinkwasser und nicht zuletzt leere Staatskassen: Experten und Expertinnen sprechen von einer Polykrise - alles außer Kontrolle?/

Wir laden herzlich zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung /AUSSER KONTROLLE /mit David Bowen (USA), Stefan Doepner (SLO/DEU), Borut Savski (SLO), Christine Schörkhuber (AUT) und Svitlana Zhytnia (UKR/AUT) am Freitag, 16.5.2025 um 20 Uhr im Rahmen von /aktuelle kunst in graz/ ein.

Auf das scheinbare Außer-Kontrolle-Geraten-sein und die unbehagliche Polykrise unserer Zeit lässt sich auch mit einem gewissen Maß an Ambivalenztoleranz reagieren: d.h., mit der resilienten Fähigkeit, diffuse Unsicherheiten und gefühlte Bedrohungen, aber auch die Unwägbarkeiten und Zwiespältigkeiten einer Zeit seismografisch wahrzunehmen, sie analytisch aufzunehmen, verantwortungsvoll darauf zu reagieren, aktiv zu werden und nicht zuletzt kreativ umzuwandeln – auch, um am Ende emotional handlungsfähig und produktiv zu bleiben. Dies zeichnet gerade auch zeitgenössische Künstler.innen aus, die sich den neuesten Technologien wie etwa der Künstlichen Intelligenz offen-neugierig, kritisch-reflektierend und kreativ-experimentierend zuwenden.

Crises everywhere - wars, refugee flows, pandemics, severe weather disasters, polluted seas and soil, contaminated drinking water and, last but not least, empty state coffers: Experts are talking about a polycrisis - everything out of control?

It is possible to react to the seemingly out-of-control situation and the uncomfortable polycrisis of our time with a certain degree of tolerance for ambivalence: i.e. with the resilient ability to seismographically perceive diffuse uncertainties and perceived threats, but also the imponderables and ambiguities of a time, to absorb them analytically, to react to them responsibly, to become active and, last but not least, to transform them creatively - also in order to remain emotionally capable of action and productive in the end. This is what characterizes contemporary artists in particular, who approach the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence with open curiosity, critical reflection and creative experimentation.
